# Using the CLI

The first way to begin with m.a.t. is by using the Command Line Installer (or interface, if you prefer).

To do this, you should start with a Ubuntu 20.04 LTS VM - using either the [Server](https://ubuntu.com/download/server) or [Desktop](https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop) versions.
